A list of easy, healthy, and quick toddler snack ideas. I’m sharing our snacks for toddlers based on what my toddlers eat for snack everyday.
Thinking of easy, yet nutritions snack ideas can be challenging!
Snack time with toddlers can be tricky; you won’t want to be standing in the kitchen forever, but you probably want to feed them something more substantial than puffs or goldfish (we love goldfish and have nothing against them, but normally pair them with something more filling).
That’s why i’m sharing 10 easy but healthy snacks for toddlers to give other mamas some inspiration!
I’m a stay at home mom to two boys, so I get that there’s not a lot of time to think about and prepare snacks. All my snack ideas below are fairly quick and easy to make and toddler approved!

Snack Time
We have set snack times that fit into our daily routine (click here for our toddler schedule)!
My toddler’s snacks are at approximately 10:30 am and 3:00 pm. Meals are at approximately 8:00 am (breakfast), 12:00 (lunch), and 5:30 (dinner), so snacks are offered roughly half-way in between each meal.
If my boys hungry and ask for a snack earlier, I will move snack time up, but we try hard not to allow snacking all day. We want to make sure that they are actually hungry and not just bored asking for a snack. And we also want them to be hungry at the time of the next meal so that they will eat well.
I serve most snacks at the kitchen table if they are messy, but if the snack is a little more casual I will let them eat it off the coffee table or their small toddler table in the playroom.
Below are 10+ snacks for toddlers to help with snack time inspiration!
What Snacks can I give my Toddler?
With toddlers and babies the main foods to avoid are processed snacks with too much sodium or sugar, and hard and crunchy foods that can be a choking hazard. Work towards wholesome snacks that have adequate healthy fats and protein to keep your toddler full for longer. Here are some age-appropriate snack ideas for toddlers:
- Yogurt
- Applesauce
- Fruit & Cheese
- Toast
- Veggie Muffins
- Oatmeal
- Crackers with dip
- Serenity Kids Pouches (Use JESSICA20 for 20% off through 11/28 only)
- Amara Organic Smoothie Melts
Below are more specific toddler snack ideas based on what my kids actually eat.
Toddler Snack Idea #1: Yogurt Parfait
Yogurt Parfait – Whole milk yogurt topped with thawed frozen berries and shredded cereal for a little added crunch. Chia seeds and hemp hearts are another great topping for extra nutrients!
Fun Toddler Snack #2: Fruit, Cheese & Smoothie Melts
Fruit, Cheese & Smoothie Melts: a simple combination thats full of nutrients, protein, and healthy fat. We had nectarines, cubed white cheddar (cut smaller or shred for young toddlers and babies) and Amara Organic Smoothie Melts. Amara is my favorite brand because they have no added sugar so they are the perfect treat for babies and toddlers (and kids and adults too!)
Easy Toddler Snack #3: Peanut Butter & Banana Toast
Peanut Butter & Banana Toast: Lightly toast bread and spread with a thin layer of peanut butter. Top with sliced bananas. This has been a fun way to add some protein into a snack and also expose him to bread since it hasn’t been his favorite. It’s also a fun way to present the food and might get your toddler excited about eating it!
Toddler Snack Idea #4: Muffin & Fruit
Muffin & Fruit – we love these healthy chocolate zucchini muffins by Veggies Made Great Muffins and served with drinkable yogurt and diced strawberries. We love Veggies Made Great because they are made with veggies and heat up in the microwave in just 45-60 seconds.
Simple Toddler Snack Idea #5: Turkey & Fruit
Turkey & Fruit – Turkey sliced into squares or rolled into rolls with a side of kiwi. For a long time lunch meat was the only meat my toddler would eat! It makes for a great snack and some extra protein in between meals.
Easy Toddler Snack #6: Avocado Toast & Banana
Avocado toast & banana – avocado toast is one of my toddler’s favorites for breakfast, lunch, dinner and even snack! Lightly toasted bread with smooshed avocado and a side of bananas. This is a great way to add some extra healthy fats.
Toddler Snack Idea #7: Fruit, Crackers & Raisins
Fruit, Crackers & Raisins: we love Blue Diamond Nut Thins for crackers and serve with diced strawberries and raisins.
Toddler Snack #8: Sliced Apples & Goldfish
Sliced Apples & Goldfish: we love goldfish, but I always try to pair it with something a little nutritious. Be sure to thinly slice apples for young toddlers and consider serving with a small scoop of peanut butter or other nut butter for added healthy fat.
Healthy Toddler Snack #9: Oatmeal
Oatmeal – my toddler has learned to love oatmeal because I make it fun! Some of his favorite verities are below. I always add 1 Tbsp maple syrup and 1 Tbsp ground flax or chia seeds seeds for added nutrients.
- Pears + Cinnamon
- Bannas + Cinnamon
- Cocoa + Strawberries
- Peaches + Milk
