A list of 20 easy, no-frills, and fun toddler breakfast ideas perfect for 1-2 year olds based on what my kids have been eating!
Are you wondering: What can you give a 1 year old for breakfast? Can a 1 year old have cereal? Breakfast time doesn’t have to be unhealthy, difficult, or boring. Breakfast normally isn’t my strong suit when cooking for my toddlers, but I do try to give them a hearty meal that they enjoy eating.
Below i’m sharing 20 breakfast ideas for toddlers based on what my 1 and 2 year old have been eating.

Best Toddler Breakfast Plates
You don’t need any special plates to help feed your toddler, but it can help make it more practical and fun. Here are some of our favorites you will see pictured below:
EZPZ Mini Bowl: made with non-toxic silicone so they are safer for your baby! We love EZPZ because their plates and bowls suction to the table, they come in the cutest colors, the quality is great, and they are dishwasher safe!
WeeSprout Silicone Suction Plates: our go-to divided plate! Made of silicone, dishwasher safe, and the suction is strong!!
Boon High Chair: we have tried quite a few high chairs and this is our current favorite! The whole thing can be put in the dishwasher for easy cleaning and it can extent to counter height.
Pillowfort Divided Plates: not suction, but very affordable and great into the toddler years.
Toddler Breakfast #1: Cereal, hold the Milk!
What cereal can you give a 1 year old?
Choose a cereal that is low in sugar and is small enough not to be a chocking hazard for your toddler. Soak the cereal in milk a few minutes before serving and avoid too much milk because that can be a big mess!
Cereal with Milk: this may sound boring, but my toddlers have a lot more fun and are more willing to eat cereal when they get to pour their own milk.

Toddler Breakfast Idea #3: Funfetti Yogurt Bowl
Funfetti Yogurt Bowl: whole milk vanilla yogurt (or plain) topped with fruit like strawberries and bananas and then sprinkled with rainbow sprinkles for a fun and inviting look!

Easy Toddler Breakfast #4: Sourdough Pancakes
Sourdough Pancakes: if you have a sourdough starter, try this awesome sourdough pancake recipe that we make a few times per month. The pancakes come out so light and fluffy and have a very mild sourdough taste.
Toddler Breakfast #5: Cocoa Strawberry Oatmeal
Cocoa Strawberry Oatmeal: cook 1/2 oat in water and then stir in 1-2 tsp cocoa powder, 1 Tbsp maple syrup, 1 Tbsp chia seeds and diced strawberries for a yummy treat!

Easy Toddler Breakfast #6: Eggy Pizza
Eggy Pizza: cook scrambled eggs and veggies (we like spinach and tomatoes) until mostly set, being sure not to break them up too much, place a tortilla on top and then flip over so that the tortilla is on the bottom and eggs are on top. Cook 1-2 minutes until the bottom of the tortilla is crispy.

1-2 Year Old Breakfast #7: French Toast Sticks
French Toast Sticks: Cook French toast and then cut into strips for the perfect toddler finger food. Serve with 100% maple syrup for dipping and drinkable yogurt on the side.

Banana French Toast Strips: make French toast, but mix a banana into the egg batter for added sweetness. After cooking cut into strips for an easily finger food breakfast! This sone of my boys’ favorite breakfast and can be made with a variety of fruit.

Toddler Breakfast Idea #15: Breakfast Quesadilla
Breakfast Quesadilla: make scrambled eggs with all your favorite toppings (we had bell pepper, spinach and cheese) and then add to a mini quesadilla for your toddler. Side of more egg scramble, strawberries, and mandarin orange.
Easy Toddler Breakfast #16: Cereal Snack Plate
Cereal Snack Plate: serve cereal dry or with milk and with other fun snacks to make it fun. Side of melon, cucumbers, banana, cheese itz, and cheese.
